The young students of DAV Public School, Vasant Kunj have added another feather in the cap to the list of school achievements and given credibility to the fact that the school ensures the all round development nurturing their hidden talents. Our little rising star, Aryan of Class 2 has made his mark in ONGC Open Chess Championship by bagging 7th rank beating his Chinese opponent. He gave tough competition to opponents from other Asian countries. This six year old chess wizard along with his sister, Arya, Class 3 also participated in Chandrashekhar Memorial All India Open FIDE rating Chess Tournament 2011 wherein Aryan got the 1st prize in the Under 9 category while Arya bagged the 1st Prize in Under 17 category pitting their against experienced opponents from other schools all over India. The school hopes to encourage them to set new records and gain heights of glory. They are being trained by school’s chess coach who has been guiding them in winning moves.
