Science Week is like a FESTIVAL OF SCIENCE aims to raise the students understanding and appreciation of science, innovation, engineering and technology. It highlights the role of science in maintaining and improving our society, economy and environment.
A SCIENCE EXTRAVAGANZA was planned to celebrate SCIENCE WEEK in our school. During this week, students of classes V-VIII showcased their inner talent and interest towards science activities. All the activities were organized in a systematic manner.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION CONDUCTED SUCCESSFULLY
With an endeavor to promote scientific attitude among budding young students, the two days long School Level Science Exhibition with the theme "A Tribute to Missile Man of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam" was held at DAV Public School, Vasant Kunj on 29th and 30th of July 2015. The event saw young enthusiastic participants from classes Vth to VIIIth putting up various exhibits comprising of low cost innovative working models. The students made wonderful working models based on Pascal’s Law like Hydraulic Arm by using syringes, ice cream sticks, rubber bands, wooden blocks etc. A floating pencil attracted high applauds by the visitors based on the attraction and repulsion properties of magnets. A student of class VIII exhibited a working model on electricity generation based on the concept of Electromagnetic induction.
An imagination based model prepared on the ‘edible cell’ using vegetables was also displayed, demonstrating the innovative thinking of the children. The programme was inaugurated by The School Manager Shri H.L. Bhatia along Dr. N. K. Sehgal, retired Prof. Hansraj College, D.U. The guests were highly impressed by the
presentations and congratulated the participants.The exhibits were indeed eye openers on various topics related to Green Energy, Agriculture, Technology, and Bio- diversity, Community Health & Environment. The students participated only for the spirit of participation, sharing and learning and not in the competitive sectionThe students were commended for their novel ideas which would help the world to become a much better place to live in. Mrs. Anju Puri, Principal, thanked all the participants for making this event a success and appreciated their novel projects.
